Once you get to Vegas, you'll want to come back again…only to make sure you didn't dream it all! Few cities bring to mind such images of sheer excess as Las Vegas. Located in the middle of the arid Mojave Desert, at the southern tip of the state of Nevada, Las Vegas is an oasis of life, energy and money - a city whose raison d’être is entertainment. And when it's all lit up at night . . . well, even those who have lived here for years agree there is nothing like the sight of the Strip in all its evening glory. Everything is in lights in Vegas: hotels, casinos, 7-Elevens, the airport's parking garage. Stand still long enough and they'll probably cover you in neon. Las Vegas, a 24 hour town, has the most extravagant and happening nightclubs anywhere in the world. From the ultra hip Studio 54 at the MGM Grand, Baby's at the Hard Rock Cafe or the House of Blues at the Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas has a huge selection of nightclubs for every style and taste. Yes, it's noisy and chaotic. Yes, it's really just Disneyland for adults. Yes, it's a shrine to greed and the love of filthy lucre. Yes, there is little ambience and even less "culture." Yes, someone lacking self-discipline can come to great grief. But in its own way, Vegas is every bit as amazing as the nearby Grand Canyon, and every bit as much a must-see. It's one of the Seven Wonders of the Artificial World. And everyone should experience it at least once. |
